Social Human-Robot Interaction

Lab 11 - flatcat

Lab 13 and 14

Assignment:

Your task is to design a concept of social robot from scratch, focused on human-robot interaction. This includes both technical and design aspects. While you are free to choose any context, you must consider realistic constraints and current technological capabilities — this is not about designing a perfect or sci-fi robot, but one with constraints and limitations intrinsically related to the context for which it is designed.

Your presentation will have to include both the design but also the technical aspects of the robot; sensors, actuators, materials, sensorimotor capabilities, modalities of interaction, social skills and behavior, morphology…

An overview of hardware and software architecture would be appreciated (use what you learned during your courses!)

Design Constraints:

- Your robot must be technologically feasible today.

- It should have a goal-oriented, context-sensitive design.

- Think of a realistic use-case, not fantasy or idealizations.
