HW6 - Social Human-Robot Interaction

Your task is to create and present your concept of social robot.

Your presentation will have to include both the design but also the technical aspects of the robot; sensors, actuators, materials, sensorimotor capabilities, modalities of interaction, social skills and behavior, morphology…

An overview of hardware and software architecture would be appreciated (use what you learned during your courses!)

This Assignment can be done in team of two or solo. The oral presentation of the concept will last 10 minutes per group, which will be followed by ~5 minutes of questions. The pdf of the presentations will be handed at the beginning of the second lab before the presentations.

• Submit a PDF file of presentation with clear and readable content. Sides notes with details can also be handed.
• At least one member of the group must be present during the last lab to present the work.
• Both the oral presentation and the pdf must be done in English

- Presentation (depths, description of the robot capabilities, features, interaction properties. Quality of presentation, research, and design of the robot (4pts)

- Evidence from ≥3 relevant scientific references (google scholar, web of science…) (2pts)

- Storytelling during presentation (bonus 1pt)

- Quality of answers during the Q&A - Demonstrates true understanding through the questions after the presentation (3pts)

- Design an experiment that would test (at least one or two aspects of the robot) if the robot is working as expected (bonus 1pt)

We would like to remind you that AI usage in homework is generally not allowed. And, every (justified) use should be cited/mentioned based on AI Rules. Unjustified and unauthorized usage of (generative) AI will result in point reduction. The course tutors reserve a right to ask students additional questions in the case of suspected AI use.
