Work individually on the first homework assignment.

Use google, NCBI database, Ensembl genome assembly, ENA archive, Wikipedia, UniProt or whatever you need to answer the following questions.

    • Human papillomavirus
    • Drosophila melanogaster
    • Human sapiens
  2. Download the sequence of Human papillomavirus. What does it start with?
  3. Who published the reference genome of Human papillomavirus and when?
  4. Find the TP53 gene. What is it good for and how the connected mechanism works? Where can you find it?
  5. Is it possible to find the TP53 gene in chimpanzee?
  6. Find an image of the tertiary structure of the p53 protein.
  7. How many isoforms of p53 are known? What is an isoform?
