The goal of the course is to explain the principles used in algorithms for processing biological data. The course contains algorithms for sequence assembly, sequence alignment, sequence probabilistic and grammatical modelling, algorithms used for finding connections between primary and secondary/tertial structure of proteins and their functions and interactions, algorithms for analysis of data from highly parallel measurements (especially gene expression), and algorithms for modelling processes as metabolism and regulation of gene expression.
The term will start with distant teaching, see the faculty covid summary page. All the course materials will be available at this Courseware page. For online teaching, we will work with MS Teams. The BIN course has already been founded there (Team-Predmet-B202-B4M36BIN+BAM36BIN), all the students registered in KOS are course members by default too. The lectures and labs will start in MS Teams as scheduled in the faculty schedule. Please, join at these time slots.
