You need to bring a scientific paper for the exam. You should understand the contents of the paper in order to be able to discuss about it.
The paper must be related to some topic of the course.
+
+
It is an advantage if the paper is related to your field of interest (bachelor thesis, master thesis, project). You can use [[http://scholar.google.com|Google Scholar]] to find relevant papers according to keywords.

If you do not work in the area of digital image processing or computer vision, select some topic of the course which was interesting for you. You can find many new algorithms, which have not been discussed in the course, but they deal with the discussed problems. You can also find advanced methods dealing with the lab tasks. The example topics are: [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise_reduction|noise reduction]],[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inpainting|inpainting]], [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_compositing|composition of images]], [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_warping|warping]], [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morphing|morphing]]
If you have not decided yet which topic is interesting you, try to choose some highly cited paper which was published in one of the preferred journals.

* Each IEEE journal publishes a list of the most popular papers of the month: [[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/topAccessedArticles.jsp?punumber=34|IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence]], [[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/topAccessedArticles.jsp?punumber=83|IEEE Transactions on Image Processing]], [[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/topAccessedArticles.jsp?punumber=42|IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging]] etc. Be careful that these lists often contain also papers older than 5 years. It is better to choose a paper which has at least several citations.
