IMPORTANT! Online teaching

  • The semester is going to start online (instead of originally intended presence teaching)
  • Attending PC labs (even though online) is still mandatory, attending lectures is highly recommended
  • PC lab (lecture) will consist of 2 parts:
  1. Voice channel, presentation, discussion via Big Blue Button (BBB)
  2. Collaborative programming via Visual Studio Code

Big Blue Button (BBB)

  • You will be sent a link 10 minutes before the start of the PC lab (lecture) via university email (so make sure to be able to access it) to connect to a live session in BBB.
  • Please connect to the live session as soon as possible.
  • Alternatively, you can also join the session via BRUTE.
  • No special application is necessary, BBB runs in your browser
  • If you want to get familiar with BBB beforehand, you can see a BBB tutorial on YouTube
  • The session will take approx. 90 min.
  • You are required to actively participate in the online session.

Visual Studio Code (VS Code)

  • You will use VS code for lectures, PC labs as well as for programming homework assignments
  • Before every online session (as described above) please be sure to open VS Code.
  • See instructions for installing Python and VS Code. Try to have these installed before the start of the semester!
