 You need to bring a scientific paper for the exam. You should understand the contents of the paper in order to be able to discuss about it. The paper must be related to some topic of the course.

You can find many new algorithms, which have not been discussed in the course, but they deal with the discussed problems. You can also find advanced methods dealing with the lab tasks.  If you have not decided yet which topic is interesting you, try to choose some highly cited paper which was published in one of the preferred journals.

   * Each IEEE journal publishes a list of the most popular papers of the month: [[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/topAccessedArticles.jsp?punumber=34|IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence]], [[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/topAccessedArticles.jsp?punumber=83|IEEE Transactions on Image Processing]], [[http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/topAccessedArticles.jsp?punumber=42|IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging]] etc. Be careful that these lists often contain also papers older than 5 years. It is better to choose a paper which has at least several citations.
