Evaluation and Terms

Submission 1 (Correctly playing player)

The submission deadline is in Upload System.

Correct stone placement 4 4 Stone has to be placed according to rules.

Submission 2 (Tournament player)

The submission deadline is in Upload System.

Basic tournament info:

  • every player plays against all the other submitted players
  • the playing board size is 8×8 fields
  • every match consists of two sets - in the first one, the player “A” starts, in the second, player “B” starts
  • 1 point for victory in set, 0.5 points for draw, 0 points for loss
  • time limit of 1s for one move, the tournament will be played on powerfull PC (most probably faster than yours)
  • incorrect move means lost set
  • exceeding of time limit on move means lost set
  • eap space error results in disqualification from the tournament
  • your player can use no more than 500 MB of memory

Evaluation

Players submitted after the deadline are not allowed to enter the tournament and receive 0 points for the tournament!

Evaluation consists of these parts:

  1. Minimal requirement for successful accomplishment of the assignment is a player playing correctly according to the rules.
  2. Manual rating of the assignment consist of evaluation of the idea and approach (i.e. the algorithm) and evaluation of the code (clean code).
  3. Automatic evaluation depends on the ranking of your player among other players in the tournament.
Evaluated Category min max note
Algorithm quality 0 10 Manual rating of the the algorithm by the lecturer. Rated are: the idea, approach, structure of the algorithm and so on.
Code quality 0 6 Rated are: comments, structure, proper naming conventions and so on.
Rank in tournament against other players 0 15 The resulting ranks will be split into sixths and given points accordingly, 0-3-6-9-12-15.
