For assignments, the score is determined by the quality of the work submitted and the timeliness of submission.
The quality of the assignment is defined by the breadth of implementation (basic requirements versus optional and inventive extensions) and the level of discussion during the presentation.
If the student fails to submit the assignment (presenting the assignment to the instructor and then submitting the e-version to courseware) at the next lab session, the maximum score achievable is automatically reduced to 2 points.
If the student fails to submit the assignment in the third subsequent laboratory exercise, no more points can be earned for the assignment (the assignment must still be submitted - this is a prerequisite for credit).
In the case of proven plagiarism (see definition of plagiarism), the course is over for the student.
